Credential Neck Wallets, How Everyone Can Benefit From Having One

Posted by on Wednesday, 12 September, 2012

Neck Wallet ID Badge HoldersIn the 21st century, the idea of leaving the house without photo identification or other credentials is much like leaving home without the whirls that create fingerprints on the tips of your fingers. It becomes nearly impossible to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt who you are and what you should have permission to access. For most, this simply means leaving the house with a government issued photo ID that can be shown with ease on request. For others whose daily job activities requires a photo ID to be visible or used for entry to public transit or their work sites, safe storage of an ID is crucial to good job performance. Credential neck wallets are a necessary part of a uniform or your every day carry accessories.

Companies that need to provide neck wallets look for reliable badge holders that will not have to be replaced every few months. The wallets should be made of material that can withstand daily wear and tear and protect a badge or ID from inclement weather or other job hazards. Most credential wallets that can meet these requirements are made of clear plastic vinyl with an assortment of extras like zipper closing pouches, pen holders and more. This enables identification to be easily verified at security stations, but easily retrieved if any security officer has difficulty seeing the information on the ID. Earth-friendly choices are available to those who have made a commitment to stay green.

EK iCat Hang It Carabiner iPhone Leash

Keep your iPhone close with a lanyardSafety, Security And Sleekness For Your iPhone

In a previous era, we were accustomed to carrying bag-loads of our possessions from place to place, whether we were traveling on an overseas trip or simply making our daily commute to work or school. We kept photos of loved ones in our wallets, played our music on CD players, and invited friends and family over to view home movies of our last family vacation.

Thanks to today’s modern technology, we no longer have to carry so many things with us during our daily routine. Our phones now play music, store as many of our photos as we like, and play videos – not to mention perform complex math computations, remind us of appointments, provide the time and date, wake us up, allow us to enjoy video games – and of course, make a phone call or two.

As the use of iPhones, iPods, and the iTouch becomes more widespread, so do the troubling accounts of loss, theft and damage. With the convenience of having something so small and portable — and at the same time so useful and multi-functional — comes the increased risk of leaving it behind in a harried moment, accidentally dropping it in a wet patch, or worse yet, having a stranger quietly remove it –- and all your personal data inside — with one quick move. Oftentimes, it seems as though the only solution to keeping your electronic valuables safe is to keep them handcuffed to your wrist, stuffed deep in your pocket or purse, or secured in a bulky, cumbersome carrying case. Of course, this idea doesn’t take into account that the main purpose of even owning a phone is to be able to receive calls in a timely manner – not easy to do if you’re digging through the bottom or your bag (or trying to find the key to unlock your handcuff)!

With the iCat EK iCat “Hang It” Carabiner iPhone Leash, it’s now possible for your iPhone, iPod or iTouch to remain close at hand, easily accessible, secure and fashionable-looking. EK Ekcessories, the 28-year-old leader in Identification and Electronics accessories, has done it again: produced an iPhone/ iPod holder that is sleek, unique, and convenient — and protects your valuable assets. EK Made in America Lanyards, Badge Holders and Accessories

Posted by on Friday, 22 June, 2012

EK Lanyards Hand Made in AmericaAfter a recent trade show in Las Vegas, we are proud to have brought in our favorite new find.  EK Accessories, a US manufacturer of many things, including ID badge holders and lanyards, based in Logan, Utah, immediately caught our eye.  They create some of the best looking and highest quality badge accessories that we have ever put our hands on.  Also, it feels good to be part of the bigger picture; supporting American manufacturing and domestic production.  Like many of you, we try to support local business wherever possible.  If you are someone that wants to or maybe is even required to buy American, the EK line of accessories is one of the best choices you can make.

We brought in quite a few styles of lanyards and attachments, and depending on your application, we are confident you will find one that will work for you.  The EK lanyards have such a nice look and feel to them that they remind me of the same excitement I get from a pair of nice new shoes.  Sure they cost more than a Chinese made lanyard, but for a professional, who wears their badge every day and takes pride in their uniform, it’s not hard to justify the added cost. All of our heart reels have a 34″ nylon retractable cord which allows you to extend your ID badge when showing to a person or while swiping through a card reader.  Rated for up to 100,000 pulls, our badge reels are designed to last a long time under normal conditions.  The vinyl strap clip can attach to any slot punched ID Card or almost any of our badge holders, making this an ideal companion for both. Understanding PVC Cards for ID Card PrintersBlank PVC ID Card Stock
A must read guide to understanding blank PVC Cards

All standard ID card printers print on blank PVC Card stock. These cards can be 100% PVC or a composite of PVC and other materials, depending on the application. The most common variables are:

  1. Size
  2. Color
  3. Magnetic Stripe
  4. Material

Size - CR-80 is the most common sized ID card and is the same size as a standard credit card or drivers license. Some ID card printers can print on larger CR90 or even CR100 cards, however, these are relatively uncommon.  The thickness of a standard card is 30mil (30 thousandths of an inch). The most common alternate sizes are 20mil and 10-14mil (business card thin). Read the rest of this entry »

No mail delivery to Canada, USPS not accepting mail to Canada

Posted by on Monday, 20 June, 2011

Canada Post LockoutAs of Saturday, June 18th at 11:59PM (CST), the USPS has stopped accepting mail destined for Canada.  The strike and total lockout has shut down the Canada Post delivery service.  As a result of this strike and lockout, any customer that has ordered from our website, eBay Store, or Amazon.com, will be experiencing major delays in receiving their shipment.  In the mean time, we still can offer delivery to Canada with UPS.  Here is the official message from the USPS.com website.

USPS DELIVERY OF MAIL TO CANADA STILL SUSPENDED, WILL STOP ACCEPTING MAIL EFFECTIVE COB. SATURDAY, JUNE 18.

Canada Post has informed USPS its suspension of services would last until at least next week. With this notification, USPS will stop accepting all services destined to Canada with the exception of Global Express Guaranteed (GXG) Shipments at 11:59 p.m., CST, Saturday, June 18.

Customers sending letters and packages to Canada can avoid service delays by using GXG, which is available online at usps.com and at participating retail locations throughout the U.S.”

On June, 14th, the agency locked out 50,000 workers.  Over the last week, no progress has been made in negotiations, although it looks like the government may step in and “rescue” the postal service.

We apologize to all of our customers who have been affected by the lock out.  We will keep an eye on the situation, and hope both sides are able to resolve their issues and resume postal services quickly.  If the situation is stressful for us here in the States, I can only imagine how tough it must be for small business and individuals who depend on the service for their survivability.

If you have any questions about the status of your order, please give us a call at 1-800-380-6726 or contact us online.

Strap Clip with Two Straps for Multiple Cards

Posted by on Friday, 10 June, 2011

Two Strap Strap ClipBy special request, we have brought in the S2204 dual strap, strap clip, and made it available with no minimum order online.  The S2204 two strap clip is a neat item for anyone that needs to hold multiple ID cards but does not use a badge holder.  Also, with this dual strap clip, it is possible to have two cards on one clip and have both cards mostly visible.

Our customer had a unique use for this strap clip that worked out great.  They needed to display a badge buddy, yet also use a vinyl badge holder for their ID.  Without this clip, the badge buddy would have been covered up.

The alligator clip easily attaches firmly to most articles of clothing, lapel or bag, making it a simple attachment for most uniforms and accessories.  The straps will fit any standard slot punched ID card or any slot hole in any standard ID badge holder.
